Whereas radioactivity based on the reactions of the atomic nucleus, chemicals reactions are interactions between valence electrons in the atomic shells.
In the periodic table you find three different kinds of elements.
The majority are displayed by metals and half-metals. In the left-upper part of the PSE non-metals are found.
It seems obvious that these different types of elements have different properties and therefore undergo different reactions and form different bondings.
There are three different types of chemical bondings.
Tasks:
Find out the names of the three different types of chemical bondings!
Shortly, discribe each bonding including type of reacting elements, name of the product and give at least one example!
Select one bonding -type and found out as much as possible about it.(characteristics, properties, examples, application,...)
Create a short powerpoint - presentation ( 3 - 5 slides) including Introduction(+Table of Contents), characteristics and properties of the chosen bonding, examples,...)
Process:
Work in pairs on one PC. You have to finish the job in 2 lessons.Split the workload equally . Use the internet resources as well as your textbooks. Additionally, you can search for further information in the school library and accomplish missing tasks as homework
